Vietnam's Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company announced on Monday that they are in talks with Russian partners to purchase crude oil. The company stated that they will also be purchasing more crude oil from Africa, the United States, and Southeast Asia. "BSR is actively discussing the possibility of purchasing ESPO, Sokol, and Novy Port crude oil with our Russian partners," the company said in a statement. A source said that BSR has already purchased 950,000 barrels of Nigerian Erha crude oil and Angolan Palanca crude oil from ExxonMobil and BP, respectively, for delivery in June. The source also mentioned that BSR has not yet bought any Russian crude oil. The refinery, with a production capacity of 130,000 barrels per day, is planning to operate at 123% of its design capacity in the second quarter, producing 2 million tons of petroleum products. BSR aims to produce a record 8.3 million tons of petroleum products this year. The company is expanding its oil storage capacity, with a new storage facility scheduled to start operating in May.
