A recent survey shows that in April, more than 2500 food prices in the Japanese market will rise. In addition, electricity, gas, and daily necessities prices will also increase starting in April, potentially worsening the burden on people's lives. The Japanese Empire Database Company conducted a survey of 195 major food and beverage manufacturers nationwide, asking about their intentions to raise prices. The results show that in April, there will be 2516 food items that will increase in price in the Japanese market, including instant noodles, beverages, and edible oils. This is the largest number of food items to increase in price in a single month since the New Year of 2026. Among them, instant noodles saw the highest price increase of 11%, while alcoholic beverages saw a maximum increase of about 20%.
