A recent survey shows that more than 2500 food prices in the Japanese market will increase in April this year. In addition, electricity, gas, and daily necessities prices will also be raised from April, which may further burden the public's cost of living. The Japanese Imperial Database Company conducted a survey of 195 major food and beverage manufacturers nationwide, asking about their intentions to raise prices. The results show that in April, there will be 2516 food items in the Japanese market that will increase in price, including instant noodles, drinks, and cooking oil. This is the highest number of monthly price increases in the market since the New Year of 2026. Among them, instant noodle prices will increase by up to 11%, and alcoholic beverages will increase by approximately 20%. The Imperial Database Company analysis shows that this round of food price increases is related to factors such as rising raw material costs, packaging material prices, and labor costs.
