Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The US and its allies should not bring group confrontation, conflict, and war to the Asia-Pacific region.
On March 26, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian presided over a routine press conference. A reporter asked about the US Department of Defense's statement that a US-led manufacturing group is seeking to build a new ammunition production line in the Philippines, claiming that this is to help allies produce and maintain military equipment closer to potential demand areas. What is China's comment on this? Lin Jian stated that China has always believed that military security cooperation between countries should not target third parties or harm the interests of third parties, nor should it harm regional peace and stability. The Asia-Pacific region is the most important engine and stabilizer for world development and prosperity. The US and its allies should respect the common wishes of regional countries, do more things conducive to peace and stability, and not introduce group confrontation, conflicts, and wars into the Asia-Pacific region. If relevant countries willingly become powder kegs and ammunition depots, they will ultimately only harm themselves. China will firmly defend its national territorial sovereignty and security interests, and uphold its legitimate rights and interests.
