The State Council Information Office held a press conference on March 26th regarding the accelerated establishment of a long-term care insurance system. Huang Xinyu, director of the Medical Service Management Department of the National Medical Insurance Administration, stated at the meeting that the supply of long-term care services is the foundation for the effectiveness of the long-term care insurance system. In order to provide insured populations with higher quality, efficient, and accessible long-term care services, the National Medical Insurance Administration has focused on three aspects: standardization, equality, and intelligence. One of the key points is to enhance guidance and promote more intelligent services. Actively adapting to the development trend of artificial intelligence and big data, leveraging the role of long-term care insurance purchases, and actively exploring and promoting the application of intelligent services in the field of long-term care. Leveraging the national medical insurance information platform, a long-term care insurance subsystem has been developed and launched, supporting the full-process information services such as long-term care disability level assessment, designated management, and expense settlement, promoting online dispatching of long-term care services, intelligent check-in for home services, and automatic recording of service duration. Some places have also explored functions such as monitoring and early warning through millimeter-wave radar, effectively improving the quality and efficiency of long-term care services. In the next step, the National Medical Insurance Administration will explore the possibility of incorporating intelligent services related to long-term care and supportive aids into the scope of long-term care insurance payments in conjunction with changes in demographics and system development to better meet diverse service needs.
