According to anonymous sources cited by the Financial Times, JPMorgan Chase is launching a pilot program that will issue reports to junior bank employees comparing the automatically estimated weekly work hours based on their behavior from the system with the hours reported by the employees themselves. The bank plans to expand this project more widely within the investment banking department. The estimated hours by the system are based on the employee's digital footprint each week, including video conferences, desktop keyboard strokes, and scheduled meetings. JPMorgan Chase stated in a media release, "This tool is similar to a weekly screen time report on a smartphone, aimed at raising awareness rather than enforcing compliance. Its purpose is to promote work transparency, focus on employee health, and encourage honest communication about workload."
