Delivery of the world's largest LNG dual-fuel container ship
On March 17th, the world's largest 24000TEU LNG dual-fuel powered container ship, the "DaFei Paris Grand Palace" built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. under China State Shipbuilding Corporation, was named and delivered ahead of schedule on Changxing Island in Shanghai, seven and a half months ahead of schedule. The "DaFei Paris Grand Palace" is the 15th LNG dual-fuel powered container ship built by Hudong Zhonghua for DaFei Group. The ship has a total length of 399 meters, a beam of 61.3 meters, a depth of 33.5 meters, a design draught of 14.5 meters, and can carry nearly 24000 standard containers, equivalent to the loading capacity of 480 Sino-European trains. The maximum stacking height of the containers is 24 layers, equivalent to 25 floors high. In addition, the "DaFei Paris Grand Palace" is equipped with a 18000 cubic meter MARK III LNG fuel tank, providing clean power for nearly 20,000 nautical miles. Compared to traditional fuel-powered ships, carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by approximately 20%, nitrogen oxides are reduced by 85%, and particulate matter and sulfur oxide emissions are reduced by 99%. According to Hudong Zhonghua, the company's container ship orders are sufficient, and production tasks are scheduled until after 2028.
