Ocean shipping data: Only 77 ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz since March 1st.

The US-Iran conflict has caused a blockage in the global energy transport chokepoint, the Strait of Hormuz. Shipping data shows that from March 1st until now, only 77 ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. In comparison, from March 1st to the 11th last year, there were 1229 ships that passed through this strait. Agence France-Presse quoted the British Lloyd's Maritime Intelligence agency on the 13th as saying that most of the 77 ships that passed through were old and in poor condition, without proper insurance and unclear ownership. This agency, which provides shipping data and analysis services, said that most of these ships belong to so-called "shadow fleets," including tankers and natural gas transport ships that are used to evade Western sanctions.
