In order to effectively safeguard the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and institutions in the Solomon Islands, the Chinese Embassy in the Solomon Islands solemnly reminds the following: 1. According to the requirements of the Solomon Islands, workers going to the Solomon Islands must apply for a work permit with the Labor Department before arrival, and it is not allowed to apply for a work permit after entering the country. After obtaining the work permit, they can apply for a work visa with the Immigration Department and can only work in the Solomon Islands after it is approved. Short-term tourists and business visitors can enter the country without a visa, but they are not allowed to work or engage in business activities in the country. 2. The Labor Department of the Solomon Islands requires foreign workers to strictly adhere to the approved position and work area on their work permit. Regular checks will be conducted on enterprises and individuals for compliance, and violators will face penalties. 3. Foreigners engaging in gold mining activities in the Solomon Islands must obtain the necessary permits and legal work visas. They must not exceed the permitted scope of mining and must not engage in smuggling gold. Those who ignore warnings and engage in illegal mining will face severe penalties such as equipment confiscation, hefty fines, deportation, or imprisonment. Law enforcement authorities in the Solomon Islands and relevant domestic departments will hold individuals and company leaders accountable for the adverse consequences of illegal mining. 4. Enhance security awareness, closely monitor the local security situation, and strictly implement security measures in camps or residences.
