The Middle East conflict shows no signs of stopping, and Qatar's large export facilities remain closed. The country is now renting out at least two liquefied natural gas transport ships it controls to the market. According to informed traders, Al Thumama and Mesaieed are two ships that Qatar Energy Company has long-term leases on, and they are currently being rented out to the market. Ship tracking data compiled by Bloomberg shows that the two vessels are currently near the west coast of Africa. Earlier this week, Qatar closed its liquefied natural gas export facility in Ras Laffan after being hit by a drone attack from Iran. The facility is the world's largest LNG export facility. The war has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, causing disruptions to shipping in the Persian Gulf, including ships transporting Qatari liquefied natural gas to global markets. Qatar Energy Company has yet to respond to this development.
