An Indian Air Force fighter jet crashes, 2 people dead
According to Indian media reports on the 6th, an Indian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed during a training flight on the evening of the 5th, resulting in the deaths of both pilots on board. The report stated that the fighter jet took off from an air base near Jorhat in Assam, northeast India on the evening of the 5th, and soon lost contact with ground control. Local residents reported hearing a loud noise coming from the nearby mountains, indicating that the aircraft may have crashed in that area. The Indian Air Force confirmed in a statement released on the morning of the 6th that both pilots on board were killed in the crash. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
