After the joint strike against Iran by the United States and Israel last weekend, technology giants such as NVIDIA, Amazon, and Alphabet are urgently ensuring the safety of their employees traveling or residing in the Middle East. The massive attack on Iran resulted in the deaths of top Iranian leaders, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Iran retaliated by attacking multiple Israeli and American military bases in the Gulf region. The conflict has disrupted the lives of local civilians, Iranian networks, air routes, and regional energy transportation. An email seen by the American Consumer News and Business Channel shows that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang notified all employees earlier this week that NVIDIA has temporarily closed its office in Dubai, with local employees transitioning to remote work. Huang stated in the internal communication that NVIDIA's crisis management team is operating 24/7, actively providing support to affected employees and their families in the Middle East, including around 6,000 NVIDIA employees stationed in Israel. As of Tuesday morning, all affected NVIDIA employees and their immediate family members are safe, according to Huang. "NVIDIA has a strong presence in the region," he wrote, "we have thousands of colleagues living there, and the impact of these events is also felt by the families and friends of many more employees worldwide. Like everyone else, I am deeply concerned about the safety of every NVIDIA family." Amazon, which has been expanding its business in the Middle East in recent years, is also adjusting its local operations to deal with the escalating conflict in the region. The company has instructed all corporate employees in the Middle East to work remotely and "comply with local government guidance."
