Our country has established over 133,000 hydrological monitoring stations.
According to the Ministry of Water Resources, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, investment in the construction of hydrological infrastructure has significantly increased compared to the "13th Five-Year Plan", and high-quality development of hydrology has achieved new results. At present, China has established more than 133,000 hydrological monitoring stations, basically achieving full coverage of major rivers and their main tributaries, as well as small and medium-sized rivers with flood control tasks. 272 million flood forecasts and 12,400 flood warnings have been issued, extending the lead time for flood forecasts on major rivers from 3 days to 10 days, significantly reducing flood disaster losses. The rainfall radar achieves continuous monitoring of rainfall at the minute level and short-term warnings, stable monitoring of ice period flows during freezing periods, and a new breakthrough in online monitoring of sediment concentration with a maximum of 1110 kilograms per cubic meter.
