At present, China has established more than 133,000 hydrological monitoring stations, basically achieving full coverage of major rivers and their main tributaries, as well as small and medium-sized rivers with flood control tasks. 272 million flood forecasts and 12,400 flood warnings have been issued, extending the lead time for flood forecasts on major rivers from 3 days to 10 days, significantly reducing flood disaster losses. The rainfall radar achieves continuous monitoring of rainfall at the minute level and short-term warnings, stable monitoring of ice period flows during freezing periods, and a new breakthrough in online monitoring of sediment concentration with a maximum of 1110 kilograms per cubic meter.
