Draft Amendments to the Measures for Prioritized Patent Examination are publicly soliciting opinions.
In order to better unleash the role of the patent prioritized examination system and strengthen the support and guarantee of key industries and core technologies, the State Intellectual Property Office is focusing on key industrial sectors and addressing the reasonable demands of innovative entities to accelerate the examination and authorization of patents. It has formulated the "Draft Amendments to the Patent Priority Examination Management Measures", which is open for public comments starting today and until March 30, 2026.
This amendment primarily focuses on the management and operational issues in current practice, systematically optimizing the patent prioritized examination management mechanism. The overall approach includes the following aspects: First, adapting and improving the admission criteria in line with new situations and demands to highlight the support for national needs; Second, improving the full-chain operation management mechanism to strengthen precise service guarantees; Third, enhancing the level of service convenience to effectively respond to social concerns and the expectations of innovative entities; Fourth, promptly elevating well-operated practices in practice and common understanding among all parties to regulations.
