Shanghai Gold Jewelry Industry Association: Standardize Shanghai Gold and Jewelry Industry Recycling Services.
On February 26th, the Shanghai Gold Jewelry Industry Association issued a letter of recommendation regarding the regulation of gold jewelry industry recycling services in Shanghai. After research and discussion, the association now proposes the following suggestions: Actively implement industry standards: Companies in this city involved in gold recycling services should actively refer to and implement the local standard "Gold Recycling Point Operation Service Specification" to regulate the recycling operation services of gold and silver products and gold jewelry. Implement mandatory identity registration: When recycling gold jewelry, it is necessary to verify and register the valid identification documents of the seller, accurately record their name, identification number, contact information, etc., and it is recommended to keep clear copies or electronic images of the documents. Improve transaction information recording: Establish detailed records for each recycling transaction, including the item name, characteristics, source description, transaction time, transaction amount, etc. The records should be kept for at least two years for verification purposes. Establish a reporting system for suspicious activities: When encountering suspicious situations such as the seller refusing to provide identification, suspicious identity, a large quantity of items with varying age and condition, contradictory source explanations, selling at a price significantly below market value, noticeable wear on the items not matching the stated source, etc., it should be reported to the local public security authorities immediately.
