According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 24th, the Ninth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held its first enlarged meeting on the 23rd at the party's central committee headquarters, electing a new Political Bureau and Political Bureau Standing Committee with Kim Jong-un as the leader. The meeting elected the new Political Bureau Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea as follows: Kim Jong-un, Pak Thae-song, Jo Yong-won, Kim Chol-ryong, and Ri Il-hwan. The report stated that the meeting also elected the Secretary of the Central Committee and formed the Secretariat. The meeting also elected the Central Military Commission and the Central Inspection Commission of the Party.
