According to a journalist from the General Office, Israel has informed the US government that it will not provide funding for the so-called "peace committee" set up by US President Trump. Israeli Security Cabinet member Zev Elkin confirmed the news in an interview on the 22nd local time. He stated that Israel has "no reason" to provide funds for the committee and that "Israel is under attack and should not bear the cost of Gaza reconstruction." Israeli government officials revealed that this decision is also related to domestic political considerations in Israel. The decision is seen as a way to appease the Israeli Minister of Public Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and the Israeli Minister of Finance Avigdor Lieberman. Previously, these two individuals did not support Israel's participation in the "peace committee," especially regarding Israel's reservations about participating with Turkey and Qatar in the committee.
