On the evening of February 15, the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently convened an emergency and fire dispatch meeting. The meeting emphasized that as the peak period of fireworks and firecrackers approaches with the approaching New Year's Eve, safety risks are becoming more prominent and the safety situation is not optimistic. Localities must deeply learn from past lessons, effectively raise their political position, and ensure that all safety measures are implemented in detail and in place. It is necessary to strengthen security control around retail stores. Emergency management departments in various regions should work together with the police and other departments to strengthen patrolling and dissuasion around retail stores, strictly prohibit the trial release of fireworks and firecrackers outside the store, supervise the guarding of retail stores, and strictly investigate illegal fireworks displays. Effective security management of retail stores must be strengthened by further enhancing secret inspections and checks at all retail points, preventing "down-store, up-home" behaviors, excessive storage, outdoor displays, smoking or the use of open flames inside the store, and the sale of products exceeding the standards. Efforts to combat illegal activities must be continued, especially the storage of fireworks and firecrackers illegally, by establishing smooth channels for public reports and strengthening online monitoring of information related to fireworks and firecrackers, promptly removing and cracking down on illegal online sales and deliveries. The implementation of the information reporting system must be effectively implemented, with the requirement of timely and accurate reporting of initial, follow-up, and final reports, and immediate reporting and verification of major sensitive situations. The promotion of safety awareness for fireworks and firecrackers must be strengthened, educating and guiding the public to consciously resist the illegal purchase and use of fireworks and firecrackers, and timely release authoritative information to address social concerns. The meeting instructed localities to solidly carry out various spring festival safety precautions, ensuring comprehensive coverage, no blind spots, and no loopholes in hazard detection, to ensure that the public can enjoy a safe, peaceful, and happy Spring Festival.
