Last year, domestic wind power added lifting capacity achieved a record high, with impressive performance in overseas exports.
The latest "Brief Report on the Wind Power Hoisting Capacity Statistics in China by 2025" released by the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society on the evening of February 13 showed that last year, the domestic wind power added 18,272 units of installed capacity, with an additional hoisting capacity of 130 million kilowatts, reaching a historical high and a year-on-year increase of 49.9%, far exceeding the 9.6% year-on-year growth rate in 2024. The development of onshore wind and offshore wind shows significant differentiation, with onshore wind power still being the absolute main driving force for domestic growth. In 2025, the domestic onshore wind power will add 125 million kilowatts of installed capacity, accounting for 95.8% of all newly added installed capacity, an increase of 2.3 percentage points compared to 2024. Due to multiple barriers, the newly added installed capacity of offshore wind power last year was 5.56 million kilowatts, a decrease of 2.3% compared to the previous year, and the proportion of all newly added installed capacity decreased to 4.2%.
