On February 13, 2026, local time, Serbian President Vucic met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the Munich Security Conference. Wang Yi first conveyed warm regards from President Xi Jinping. Wang Yi stated that President Vucic leads the Serbian people, upholds independence and opposes foreign interference, effectively safeguarding national stability, dignity, and overall development, for which China appreciates. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Vucic, the building of a new era of the China-Serbia community with a shared future is off to a good start. The two countries leaders met twice last year, engaged in strategic communication, reached broad consensus, and charted the course for further development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work together with Serbia to enhance high-level exchanges, strengthen political mutual trust, clearly support each other in safeguarding core interests, enhance practical cooperation, operate the Hungary-Serbia railway, unleash positive effects of the China-Serbia FTA, inherit and promote the strong friendship, and continuously create new prospects for bilateral relations. President Vucic asked Wang Yi to convey sincere regards to President Xi Jinping, noting that President Xi's successful visit to Serbia two years ago had effectively promoted the development of bilateral relations. Serbia appreciates China's support for safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. In today's increasingly turbulent world, China is truly Serbia's friend and partner. Serbia looks forward to taking political, economic, technological, cultural, and other cooperation to a higher level. Serbia firmly upholds the One-China principle and strongly supports China's legitimate position on achieving national unity, and will continue to provide firm support on all issues involving China's core interests.
