Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam chaired a meeting of the Integration into National Development Steering Committee on the 12th, leading all government department heads to prepare for aligning with the national "14th Five-Year Plan". Lam stated that the government will establish a systematic policy framework to proactively align with the national plan and strategically deploy in key development areas to better integrate Hong Kong into and serve the national development. She emphasized that the "Hong Kong Five-Year Plan" aligned with the national "14th Five-Year Plan" will be a significant strategic document outlining development visions, core goals, key areas, and major initiatives for the next five years, providing a roadmap and timetable for the development of Hong Kong's economy and livelihoods. Officials must have a forward-thinking mindset to ensure that the "Hong Kong Five-Year Plan" has a strategic and forward-looking development direction and goals. Lam instructed each policy bureau to establish preparatory groups and carry out preparations. When the contents and details of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" are officially announced, these preparatory groups will transition to align with the national plan formulation groups and work at full speed, aiming to complete the alignment with the national "14th Five-Year Plan" in Hong Kong within the year.
