Japanese media: Okinawa citizens issue joint statement urging US and Japan to stop military exercises.
According to the report by the Ryukyu Broadcasting Corporation of Japan on the 11th, the joint military exercise between Japan and the United States, codenamed "Iron Fist," began in Kyushu, Okinawa, and Yamaguchi Prefecture on the same day, aimed at enhancing the defense capabilities of remote islands. This is the fourth consecutive year that this joint military exercise has been held in Japan, with approximately 800 US Marines, 2,100 US Navy personnel, and about 2,000 members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Maritime Self-Defense Force participating, making it the largest scale in history.
