In 2025, the economically advanced provinces contributed 62.2% to the national economic growth.

Recently, various provinces and municipalities have successively released economic indicators for 2025. Among them, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, and other provinces ranked in the top ten in terms of GDP all saw a year-on-year growth of 5.1% in their regional gross domestic product (GDP), contributing 62.2% to the national economic growth and driving the national economic growth by 3.1 percentage points. In 2025, the GDP of Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Henan, Hubei, Fujian, Shanghai, and Hunan, the ten major economic provinces, reached 85.517 trillion yuan, accounting for 61.4% of the national total. Looking at the three industries separately, the value added by the first, second, and third industries of the ten major economic provinces reached 4.769 trillion yuan, 318.372 trillion yuan, and 490.976 trillion yuan respectively, accounting for 49.0%, 63.9%, and 61.2% of the national total for each industry.
