This morning, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government held a press conference. Yang Jiaying, director of the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, stated that employment is a top priority for people's livelihoods. Last year, with joint efforts from all parties, the city added 641,000 new jobs, and the urban unemployment rate averaged 4.2%. The overall employment situation is stable and improving. This year is the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan." The economic recovery is showing positive momentum, and beneficial factors for steady employment are increasing. The municipal party committee and government attach great importance to promoting employment, including it in the city's People's Livelihood Project. "Improving skills to promote employment and helping long-term unemployed youth to re-enter the workforce" has been included in the government's practical projects for the people, further enhancing our confidence in stabilizing employment with greater efforts and consolidating the positive momentum.
