Co-founder of xAI throws 57 million pounds to purchase top-floor apartment in London.

According to foreign media reports, Igor Babuschkin, co-founder of xAI under Musk, has agreed to purchase a penthouse overlooking Hyde Park in London for approximately 57 million pounds, making it the most expensive residential transaction in the UK in over a year. Sources said that Babuschkin decided to buy the property approximately two weeks ago, just days before Musk announced the merger of SpaceX and xAI and the valuation of the merged entity at 1.25 trillion dollars. This is also the first residential transaction in London to exceed 50 million pounds since the end of 2024. Musk recruited Babuschkin in 2023 to develop an alternative product to ChatGPT. Babuschkin left xAI in 2025 to establish Babuschkin Ventures, a company specializing in artificial intelligence security investments. Prior to this, he was a research engineer in the artificial intelligence department of DeepMind, a subsidiary of Alphabet.
