Audi design chief criticizes the widespread use of large screens.
On January 26th local time, Audi's Chief Creative Officer, Massimo Frascella, sharply criticized the current trend in the automotive industry of "big screen stacking" design during an exclusive interview with "Top Gear." He pointed out, "Big screens are not the best experience, they are just technology for technology's sake. For us, technology should appear when you need it and hide when you don't." Frascella specifically emphasized the "Audi click feeling" that older car enthusiasts fondly remember - the clear feedback brought by precise mechanical buttons, a design feature that Audi used to take pride in but is gradually disappearing in the wave of big screens.
