Organization: Global DRAM supply may be increased in 2027.

According to a survey by TrendForce, Micron Technology plans to acquire Kioxia's fab in Tongluo for $1.8 billion. The two companies will establish a long-term advanced packaging foundry relationship for DRAM. This cooperation will benefit Micron Technology in adding advanced process DRAM capacity and enhance Kioxia's mature process DRAM supply. It is estimated that there will be room for an increase in global DRAM industry supply in 2027. The first phase of Micron Technology's Tongluo project is expected to contribute capacity equivalent to more than 10% of Micron Technology's global capacity in the fourth quarter of 2026 by the second half of 2027.
