Yunnan reported the situation of the accountability and responsibility for the third round of transfer of issues in the Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Inspection. A total of 142 people were held accountable.
On December 27th, it was learned from the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government that the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government have released the accountability situation of the third round of central ecological and environmental protection inspection. Based on the verification of the investigation, in accordance with relevant regulations, 73 responsible party organizations and 142 responsible individuals were seriously held accountable. According to the report, from May 9th to June 9th, 2024, the seventh central ecological and environmental protection inspection team inspected Yunnan Province for the third round of central ecological and environmental protection inspection. On August 20th, 2024, the inspection feedback was given to Yunnan Province, and at the same time, 4 ecological and environmental damage responsibility issues found during the inspection were transferred, requiring thorough investigation, clarification of responsibilities, and handling in accordance with regulations and laws. The issues include: severe damage to forest ecology in some prefectures; long-term direct discharge of domestic sewage in some cities, inadequate improvement of black and odorous water bodies; weak control over construction waste disposal, prominent ecological damage issues; inadequate protection and management of some plateau lakes. The Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attach great importance to this matter, insisting on high-level coordination and collaborative progress. The provincial discipline inspection commission quickly established an investigation team, handled cases based on facts, conducted direct investigations, held accountable seriously, and urged relevant departments to earnestly rectify the issues. Based on the verification of the investigation, in accordance with the "Accountability Regulations of the Communist Party of China" and other regulations, 73 responsible party organizations and 142 responsible individuals were held seriously accountable. Among them, 16 officials at the bureau level, 47 officials at the division level, and 79 officials at the section level and below; 39 party discipline and administrative sanctions were imposed, 32 were given warnings, 33 were reported for accountability, and 38 were handled through criticism, education, and written inspections.
