The Market Supervision Administration has deployed work to ensure the stability and quality of important consumer goods and services during the New Year and Spring Festival.
The State Administration for Market Regulation recently issued a notice, deploying efforts to ensure price stability and quality of important livelihood goods and services during the upcoming "two festivals" period. The notice requires intensifying price monitoring for important livelihood goods both online and offline, and continuously monitoring the price fluctuations of staple foods such as rice, flour, oil, meat, eggs, milk, fruits, and vegetables. Special attention should be paid to the online and offline prices of goods and services for New Year's Eve dinners, high-end tobacco, alcohol, tea, cultural and entertainment products, as well as strengthening price supervision in the tourism industry, including catering, accommodation, and scenic spot tickets. Enhanced monitoring and early warning of prices for medicines, coal, natural gas, and other products during cold weather and snow disasters, as well as increased supervision of air and rail passenger transport prices and parking fees. Strengthen enforcement of price regulations, conduct market price inspections, and crackdown on violations such as not complying with regulations on labeling prices, price fraud, non-compliance with government pricing guidelines, and other illegal pricing behaviors. Internet trading platforms should be urged to fulfill their responsibilities for compliance management. The notice also emphasizes stepping up online and offline supervision and inspection of food producers and sellers, cracking down severely on counterfeit, adulterated, fake, and falsely advertised products. Strengthen food safety in catering services and market supervision of the quality and safety of edible agricultural products, with a focus on key regions, key varieties, and key subjects. Increase special inspections on staple foods such as rice, flour, oil, meat, eggs, milk, fruits, and vegetables, as well as popular festival foods during New Year's Day and Spring Festival, and promptly release the results of supervision inspections. The notice calls for a focus on thermal insulation materials, safety nets, safety helmets, and other key special labor protective equipment, as well as fire protection products and other key industrial products, continuously conducting quality and safety hazard investigation and management. Strengthen quality and safety supervision in the production and sales of gas appliances, electric bicycles, children's products, power banks, winter heating products, cashmere sweaters, down jackets, fireworks, firecrackers, and other key consumer goods, increasing supervision inspections and daily checks. Focus on production and sales enterprise clusters, wholesale markets, rural areas, etc., emphasizing supervision inspections and risk monitoring of food-related products such as disposable plastic tableware.
