Taiyuan Airport's new second runway will begin operations today.

This morning, the new second runway of the third phase expansion project of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport in Shanxi Province was officially put into operation, greatly improving the airport's operational guarantee capability. The new second runway of Taiyuan Airport is located 490 meters south of the centerline of the original runway, with a total length of 3600 meters and a width of 45 meters, which can meet the demand for takeoff and landing of large wide-body aircraft. The official operation of the new second runway not only lays the foundation for the subsequent transfer work of T3 terminal building, but also has important significance for speeding up the construction of Taiyuan regional aviation hub and creating a new highland for opening up to the outside world in inland areas.
