Western Cement's subsidiary plans to acquire South African cement group AfriSam.

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Botswana website recently published a notice stating that West International New Building Materials company intends to acquire 100% ordinary shares of South African cement group AfriSam and its subsidiaries. The agency has received the relevant merger notification. The notice did not disclose financial details. The statement said that West International New Building Materials is wholly owned and fully controlled by Yau Bai International Holdings Limited, which is a subsidiary of West Cement Limited.
