860 scenes + 3 pilot bases. Artificial intelligence applications in the transportation field drive into the fast lane.
Today, the State Council Information Office held a press conference, at which Li Yang, Deputy Minister of Transport, stated that the Ministry of Transport is intensively implementing the action of "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation", clarifying four key areas during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period: technology breakthroughs, building strategic positions, accelerating application implementation, and improving governance systems to promote the transformation of transportation towards innovation-driven development. The transportation sector is characterized by diverse and complex scenarios, rich data, and high application demand, making it a pioneering field for the application of artificial intelligence. The Ministry of Transport is earnestly implementing the "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation" action to shift transportation from relying on traditional elements to innovation-driven approaches. There are four main aspects: 1. Improving the policy system: together with six other departments including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry published the "Implementation Opinions on 'Artificial Intelligence + Transportation'", providing an overall strategic deployment for the integration of artificial intelligence in comprehensive transportation and various fields such as railways, highways, waterways, civil aviation, and postal services. 2. Strengthening the foundation of data intelligence: expedite the planning and deployment of a comprehensive transportation model, establish a national comprehensive transportation information platform, and actively build a "data hub" and "smart brain". 3. Accelerating scenario cultivation: forming a comprehensive picture of 860 application scenarios, focusing on key areas such as intelligent ports, emergency logistics, and the resilience of international supply chains. This will drive the establishment of three national artificial intelligence application pilot bases in Qingdao, Mianyang, and Xiamen, faster building an innovation hub for "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation". 4. Optimizing the industrial ecosystem: guiding the establishment of the Comprehensive Transport Model Innovation and Industrial Alliance, which has already attracted 55 leading companies. The organization of the first Comprehensive Transportation Model Intelligence Competition aims to further stimulate industry innovation and entrepreneurship enthusiasm.
