The South Korean government will implement new regulations on the 23rd, requiring people to undergo real-time facial recognition verification when applying for a new phone number to prevent illegal individuals from registering phone numbers for fraudulent purposes. According to Yonhap News Agency on the 23rd, South Korea's three major mobile communication operators, SK Telecom, KT Corporation, and LG Uplus, as well as virtual network operators, will all have to comply with the new regulations. These new regulations will officially take effect in March next year.
