Inner Mongolia Baotou survey residents' willingness to give birth: there is still a buffer period for the transformation of reproductive behavior.
In order to understand the implementation effect of the fertility support policy, the Inner Mongolia Baotou Municipal People's Government Public Opinion Survey Center recently conducted a survey on residents' evaluation of the fertility support policy. According to the news released by Baotou News Network, the survey results show that the childcare subsidy has to some extent encouraged fertility, with over 20% of the respondents expressing an increased willingness to have children. At the same time, the increase in fertility willingness has also led to an increase in childcare consumption. After the policy was announced, 20.2% of the respondents clearly stated that their willingness to have children had "significantly increased" or "slightly increased". The stimulating effect of the policy was most pronounced among 18-30-year-olds and married childless families, with the proportion of those expressing an increased willingness to have children being 32.5% and 30.1% respectively. The proportion of one-child families wanting a second child also increased by 18.7%, showing that the policy has had a good stimulating effect on the demand for "secondary fertility". In terms of specific timing for having children, 64.9% of planned secondary fertility families chose "not sure for the time being", with only 13.9% locking in action within "one year", indicating that the policy has limited pulling power for the timing of childbirth and that there is still a buffer period for the conversion of willingness into behavior.
