According to interviews with reporters, prices of white feathered broiler chickens and feathered chickens have been continuously increasing due to a decrease in chicken supply, especially large chickens. On December 22, the price of white feathered broiler chickens and feathered chickens in Shandong was quoted at 3.85 yuan per jin, an increase of 0.25 yuan per jin from the previous Thursday, and an increase of 0.5 yuan per jin from October, far exceeding the previous high point of 3.7 yuan per jin earlier this year, continuously setting new highs for the year. Some slaughterhouses are offering higher prices up to 3.95 yuan per jin or even 4 yuan per jin to purchase chickens to secure their supply. Prices of chicken breast meat, chicken feet, and other related products have also been rising in sync with the increase.
