Transfer over 84.5 billion cubic meters of water, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project has shown significant benefits in 11 years.
Recently, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's Eastern Route Phase I celebrated its 11th anniversary of full water flow. The project has already diverted over 84.5 billion cubic meters of water to the north. An official from the South-to-North Water Diversion Group in China stated that they are speeding up the construction of key national water network projects such as the Han River diversion from the Yangtze River, in order to continuously advance the interconnection and intercommunication of the national backbone water network with provincial, municipal, and county-level water networks. This will further leverage the optimized allocation of water resources through the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, ensuring water safety for the people, restoring the ecological environment of rivers and lakes, and promoting the economic circulation between the north and south.
