According to Sanya Phoenix International Airport, on December 20, 2025, the passenger throughput of Sanya Phoenix International Airport in Hainan surpassed its historical peak in 2025, reaching a record high since it began operating flights. As of December 20, Sanya Airport had handled a total of 133,599 landings and takeoffs for transportation flights in 2025, with a passenger throughput of 21.849 million people and a cargo throughput of 113,000 tons, representing growth of 7.0%, 5.8%, and 16.3% respectively compared to the same period last year. Among them, the passenger throughput reached a historical peak, with international passengers reaching 895,000 people, a significant increase of 46.6% year-on-year, demonstrating strong international appeal and highlighting the importance of the free trade port.
