The United Nations stamped "Harbin" as the "World Outstanding City for Ice and Snow Tourism".

Today, the World Tourism Economy Forum 2025 Summit is being held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. During the opening ceremony, the United Nations World Tourism Organization awarded Harbin the title of "World Ice and Snow Tourism Excellence City" and signed a cooperation agreement on ice and snow tourism research with the city. Throughout the summit, several international organizations and domestic and foreign companies signed multiple cooperation agreements with businesses and cities within Heilongjiang Province. The forum is themed "New Quality Productivity: The New Engine of the World Tourism Economy" and has invited over 1000 guests from all five continents, over 30 countries and regions including the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, leaders of relevant international organizations, officials from various countries' tourism departments, executives from Fortune 500 companies, well-known entrepreneurs, and experts and scholars.
