The island-wide closure operation of Hainan Free Trade Port is imminent. On December 15, the key project of the National "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" for power development and a major project of Hainan Free Trade Port, the Hainan 500 kV main grid project, was fully put into operation. The project includes the construction of three new 500 kV substations and new transmission lines passing through 14 cities and counties including Haikou, Sanya, Danzhou, and Qionghai, forming a complete "" shaped ultra-high voltage ring network structure, marking the first historic leap of the Hainan power grid main grid from 220 kV to 500 kV. The power transmission capacity has been increased more than four times, allowing for flexible distribution of electricity across the entire island and ensuring a more secure and reliable power supply.
