Fujian Sanming Shuijingkeng Coal Mine "821" Major Gas Explosion Investigation Report Released

On the 12th, the Fujian Bureau of the State Administration of Work Safety released the "Investigation Report on the '821' Major Gas Explosion Accident at Guangfeng Coal Mine of Sanming, Fujian." The report showed that on August 21, 2025, at 20:01, a major gas explosion accident occurred at the Shuijing Mine of Guangfeng Coal Mine, Sanming City, Fujian Province, resulting in 7 deaths, 1 minor injury, and direct economic losses of approximately 9.26 million yuan. After investigation, it was determined that the "821" major gas explosion accident at the Shuijing Coal Mine was a production safety liability accident caused by inadequate ventilation gas management, encountering geological structures in the mining face, massive coal seam collapse, gas outburst and accumulation, and the illegal ignition and smoking by the operating personnel. The accident investigation team made handling suggestions for 31 responsible persons and related units.
