The Trump administration approved the launch of plans for five new national banks focusing on cryptocurrency on Friday local time, as part of its efforts to further integrate the industry into the traditional financial system. The cryptocurrency startups that received approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency include Circle and Ripple. Paxos, BitGo, and Anchorage Investments also received approval on Friday.
