Shanghai Jiao Tong University and CASIC (China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation) signed an agreement to jointly establish the first space computing joint laboratory in China.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University and National Aerospace Star held a signing ceremony today to jointly build the first domestic space computing joint laboratory, focusing on research in cutting-edge areas such as the development of independent and controllable space computing chips, robot satellites, and on-orbit additive manufacturing around the demand for space-based computing power. The signing ceremony also saw the inauguration of Dongfang Skytech Co., Ltd. at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Industrial Technology Innovation Research Institute. Dongfang Skytech is an industrialization platform for the space computing joint laboratory established under the guidance of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, aiming to explore new models of integration and transformation of industry, academia, and research, accelerating the industrialization process of space-based computing power.
