Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr. Lau Kong-wah, is concerned about the long-term housing needs of the residents affected by the fire at Wang Fu Court in Tai Po. He has instructed Wong Wai-lun to gather opinions.

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam said today that after the fire at Kam Fook Court in Tai Po, the government has arranged for about 4,000 affected residents to stay in temporary housing, hotels, and other accommodations. Lam said that she is concerned about the long-term housing needs of the affected residents and has instructed Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Joseph Chan to collect opinions from the affected residents and propose a follow-up resettlement plan as soon as possible.
