IDC: IT spending is expected to grow by 14% by 2025, reaching a new high in nearly 30 years. Investment in AI infrastructure will be a major driving force.
Wisdom Finance and Economics APP learned that according to the latest "IDC Worldwide Black Book" released by the international data company (IDC), global information technology (including hardware, software, and IT services) spending is expected to grow by 14% in 2025, marking the fastest growth since 1996. Back then, the release of Windows 95, the widespread use of PCs, and the rapid development of the internet all contributed to the surge in IT spending. Nearly 30 years later, a wave of large-scale AI infrastructure investments is leading a new super cycle of technology investment. Global IT spending in 2025 is expected to reach $4.25 trillion (approximately 30 trillion RMB). Including telecommunications and business services, total global information and communication technology (ICT) spending will approach $7 trillion (approximately 50 trillion RMB).
