Asian Development Bank (ADB): Approved a $150 million loan to support Xianning, Hubei province in advancing low-carbon, resilient urban development.

The Asian Development Bank announced that it has approved a loan of 1.07 billion yuan to help Xianting City in Hubei Province, China promote low-carbon and resilient urban development. The project will involve the construction of new public transportation infrastructure and digital information systems; laying new water supply pipelines to address water scarcity for more than 115,000 households; and following the concept of "avoiding redundant excavation, and rebuilding for a better future", construction or repair of non-motorized lanes and drainage infrastructure. The project will also establish a low-emission area in the ancient city of Chibi, introducing electric buses and electric cruise boats to meet daily commuting and tourism needs.
