Microsoft promises to create super intelligence that aligns with human interests.
Microsoft's consumer artificial intelligence chief, Mustafa Suleyman, is creating a "beneficial to humanity" superintelligence and has promised to stop if this work poses a threat to humanity. Suleyman's work was previously restricted by contractual terms with OpenAI, but a deal in October last year gave Microsoft the right to develop its own artificial intelligence. Suleyman announced the progress of the superintelligence in a blog post, outlining Microsoft's view that these systems can only succeed when they are designed to serve humanity.
