Foreign Ministry: Willing to continue coordinating and cooperating with Russia to resolutely contain the provocation of ultra-right forces in Japan.
On December 5th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian presided over a routine press conference. A reporter from Russia Today asked about the recent meeting between Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, and Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation in Moscow, where both sides expressed that China and Russia have reached a consensus on issues related to Japan. Lin Jian pointed out that during the strategic security consultation between China and Russia, both sides conducted a strategic alignment on issues related to Japan, reaching a high degree of consensus. They unanimously believe in firmly defending the victory of World War II, which was achieved at the cost of lives and blood, and resolutely resisting any erroneous words and actions that distort the history of colonial aggression. Both countries are determined to counter the revival of fascism and Japanese militarism, and are willing to shoulder their shared responsibility as major powers and permanent members of the UN Security Council to maintain world peace and security, uphold historical truth and international justice. "China is willing to continue coordinating with Russia to firmly contain the provocative actions of Japan's extreme right-wing forces seeking to destabilize the region and militarize again," Lin Jian said.
