On December 3rd local time, the US State Department announced that starting from December 15th, it will expand the scope of online information screening. In addition to students and exchange scholars who have already undergone this screening, all H-1B visa applicants and their family members will also be required to undergo online information screening. For the convenience of the screening process, all H-1B applicants and their family members are required to adjust the privacy settings of all their social media accounts to "public". The US State Department will use available information in the visa selection and screening process to identify applicants who do not meet the conditions for entering the US, including those who pose a threat to US national security or public safety.
