According to monitoring, the flu in Beijing has entered its peak period, with the prevalent strain being influenza A H3N2. Compared to previous years with the same prevailing strain, the intensity of the outbreak this year is still lower than historical peaks. On December 1st, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission introduced that Beijing is utilizing the "three-tiered medical linkage" mechanism to ensure the healthcare needs of sick children are met. Every autumn and winter, the number of children with respiratory diseases increases. For example, at the Beijing Children's Hospital, the total number of children seen by doctors has increased since November this year, but has not exceeded the number seen during the same period last year. The increase in the third week was relatively fast, while in the fourth week it remained relatively stable. Identifying this pattern, Beijing is guiding medical institutions to develop emergency plans before the peak of visits, promoting the opening of fever clinics, pediatric and respiratory departments to meet the demand, dynamically expanding medical staff and consultation rooms, and setting up separate clinics for children needing infusion or follow-up consultations. The list of hospitals providing pediatric nighttime services and community health centers offering pediatric diagnosis and treatment services was subsequently published.
