According to reports, Solidigm is considering site selection on the U.S. East Coast and has begun discussions on details such as product portfolio and mass production timelines. However, the final investment scale and construction plans still depend on the progress of long-term agreement (LTA) negotiations with customers. Solidigm was established after SK Hynix acquired Intel Corporation's NAND flash business in 2021 and currently primarily handles the related NAND business. On September 16, reports said SK Hynix was in talks with Intel Corporation about cooperating to produce memory chips in the United States, but the company subsequently said that no specific partner has been determined and no specific plan for producing memory chips in the United States has been finalized.
